    We are a "hub of community services" providing the Te Anau and Fiordland area with a host of social services.

    The services we provide are listed below:

    Services Provided

    Assistance with accessing government & community organisations

    Heartland Services - our co-ordinator will help you:

    • Arrange face-to-face meetings with any of the services that use our centre
    • Identify and obtain the government applications/forms you need
    • Access government and community websites and publications
    • Help with inquiries for IRD, Work & Income, Immigration, Department of Corrections, Department of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Social Development
    Employment support
    Advocacy

    Our Community Family worker  and Community Connector advocate for a strong and health community.

    Facilitating community activities

    Our Community Family worker co-ordinates or facilitates activities to fulfil individual, family or community needs that are brought to our attention.

    Counselling
    Alliance Counselling: Provides counselling to individuals, couples and families in the Fiordland area. Self referrals are available.
    Office/meeting room hire

    Our offices/meeting rooms are available for hire on a permanent or casual basis. Read more here

    Budgeting and help with debt

    We have Jubilee Budget Services visiting our centre monthly - self & agencies referrals available.

    Legal / civil services

    We have visiting Community Law lawyers on request.

    Fiordland Justices of the Peace have weekly visits for document certification every Tuesday from 12noon - 1.30pm.

    If you have experienced negative effects due to Covid-19 our Community Connector is here to support you to find ways to positively move forward in these changing times, in a way that best meets your needs.

    Maybe you don't feel confident to deal with government agencies that may be able to assist you or perhaps you just need a listening ear and support to get back into life activities, our Community Connector is here to help.

    Self referrals are welcome.

    Transport

    We run a Community Shuttle Service Monday - Friday for Health, Work & Income, IRD, Immigration and any government department appointments in Invercargill with prior bookings. 

    Charges will apply but you may be eligible for National Travel Assistance through the Ministry of Health.

    Food support
    Food support services provide food support to people experiencing hardship. This may include food parcels, food banks and social supermarkets.
    Information, education & support
    Provision of information, guidance, advice, and resources.
    Social and group activities
    Provision of social and group activities in the community.

    Charges

    Most of our services are free.

    For others, such as office/meeting room hire, there will be a charge.
