    TANI supports Asian New Zealanders to enjoy optimal quality of life and wellbeing and to develop strong and healthy Asian communities in Aotearoa New Zealand by providing public health & social service information, health education, advocacy, and social work services free of charge.

    Services Provided

    Wellness / healthy lifestyle

    We deliver free health seminars in other languages, workshops, conferences on topics relating to the health and wellbeing of the ethnic communities.

    Also provide a "Health Literacy Programme" across the wider Auckland region for Asian communities, to empower them to more confidently navigate health information and services for their own and family's health.

    5 week "Migrant Women Wellbeing Programme" for migrant and former refugee women for:

    • Free Kiwi English class
    • Free New Zealand Health System and Women's Health session
    • Free 5 driving lessons

    Advocacy
    Advocate and provide cultural advice to various Government and Non-Government service providers to fill the gaps and develop more inclusive services for all.
    Information, education & support

    We provide free information about community health, publicly funded health programmes, and social support services for those migrants and former refugees in need.

    We also deliver quarterly Regional Network Meetings to communities to update community information, refresh knowledge, and foster collaborative opportunities.  

    Pregnancy and parenting

    HEALTHY BABIES HEALTHY FUTURES (HBHF) improves the health of pregnant mothers, babies and toddlers by providing the latest health information, educational activities and access to services that support better Nutrition and Physical Activity.

    What we provide

    • FREE TextMATCH service – Health promotion text messages matched to the stages of pregnancy or the age of baby are sent to your phone. These messages are about baby’s development, nutrition, breastfeeding, keeping mum healthy, and physical activity.
    • FREE “Cooking Demonstration Sessions” sessions about healthier food options, cooking methods, food label reading, recipe modification and much more.
    • FREE nutrition workshops to encourage affordable healthy family meals.
    • FREE physical activity sessions at your pace to keep yourself and baby healthy.
    • FREE community events and family fun.
    • Socialise with South Asian families living in Auckland & Waitemata

    Online Support Workshop During COVID-19

    "Stay Well Stay Connected" online workshop every Tuesday and Saturday for emotional support during COVID-19 challenging times.

    • Saturday, 11am -12:30pm via Zoom
    • Tuesday, 6pm - 7pm via Zoom
    Education and training
    We provide free educational health seminars and Health Talk programmes to increase Asian people's health literacy.
    Refugee / migrant support
    We support and work with and for Asian migrants and former refugees with a range of languages, such as Chinese, Hindi, Punjab, Korean, Japanese, Myanmar, Vietnamese, and Cambodian when the support is needed. Please have a look at the service range provided in this website.
    Service navigator
    We help our Asian migrants and former refugees to navigate public health and social service information and with access to the service providers, including referral.
    Social work
    We provide social work services for those people in hardship and need to get through the challenging time by providing information and helping to access the services to get the right support service.
